Maslenitsa 2009 celebration in Lansing
(Goodbye Winter Festival)
March 7 , 2009
Children’s games, Dance, Traditional Russian Music, Children’s Play with Mrs. Winter and Mrs. Spring, Russian Borshe and Bliny (Pancakes) and American food.
Maslenitsa celebration was great!
We had russian borsh, bliny and other good american and russian food.
Even the small accident with fried bliny and fire alarm did not frighted nobody. Somebody said: "That is real good Maslenitsa - we will newer forget about smoking bliny!"
Children singed songs, danced, played games. Then Winter, Spring and Maslenitsa visited us. We had very friendly international company - ucranians, russians, americans, armenian, bielorussian people etc.
We want to say thanks to everybody who helped us to organize this party, cook food, clean room after, and of course to everyone who came to have fun with us!
We collected $467, and spent for food $217,89, so we get $249,11 for Shore of Hope organization to buy matrasses and pillows for russian orphans in the orphanages of Far East of Russia.
Thanks to everyone!
