Katya’s Story
Katya is 8 years old. She is in 1st grade, but because of an illness she cannot go to school now. Katya has a very serious illness, it is a problem with her bones. Her leg was hurt in an accident and she has had an operation, but a second operation has been scheduled for February 24th because the bones are not healing. The girl needs more medical tests because a diagnosis has not been made. According to the caregivers, the doctors are not giving her enough attention and it may be that they don’t wish to give her the tests because she is without parents and has no one to pay for her treatment. She also needs medication and postoperative rehabilitation.
Katya is a very good, affectionate girl. She very much wants to play and go to school as normal, healthy children do.
